Nespresso coffee stands out for its high quality, rich flavor, and carefully selected coffee beans. The coffee is made from high-quality beans sourced from distinct regions around the world to reveal their unique aromas and flavors.

Quality. Coffee beans are selected according to strict quality standards. Carefully controlled roasting and grinding processes ensure a refined aroma and a perfectly balanced taste.

Flavor. Each coffee variety features natural aromas that highlight specific flavor notes. The capsules contain only high-quality ground coffee, with no additives, preserving the authentic and natural flavor.

Sustainability. Nespresso is committed to supporting coffee farmers, sourcing beans responsibly, and promoting the recycling of aluminium capsules to reduce environmental impact.

Nespresso coffee intensity reflects the character of the coffee, not its caffeine content. It is determined by three key elements: roasting level, body, and bitterness. Together, these define the richness, depth, and overall expression of your coffee.

It is important to note that intensity does not indicate strength or caffeine concentration. The perceived strength of a coffee depends mainly on the amount of coffee used, cup size, and/or the addition of milk.

Flavoured coffees designed for recipes (such as Barista Creations) do not have a defined intensity, as they are typically enjoyed with milk. In such cases, intensity depends on milk quantity and personal taste preferences.

Nespresso coffee capsules contain no food allergens or preservatives. They are free from gluten, lactose, and nuts. All capsules contain only roasted and ground coffee.

Some naturally flavoured coffees may include added natural flavourings; however, these do not trigger allergic reactions and meet strict quality standards. For example, coffees with nutty notes do not contain nuts and are free from nut allergens.

Nespresso uses advanced processes to remove caffeine while preserving the coffee’s natural aroma, flavour, and intensity.

Two safe and environmentally friendly methods are used:

Water Process: Coffee beans are immersed in water, which gently extracts caffeine from the outer layers of the bean.

Carbon Dioxide Process: Beans are treated with liquid carbon dioxide, which selectively removes caffeine.

The result is a rich and aromatic coffee with a very low caffeine content (less than 0.1% by weight), maintaining the same quality and taste as classic Nespresso coffees.

Moderate coffee consumption during pregnancy is generally considered safe - approximately 200–300 mg of caffeine per day (around 2-3 cups). However, individual sensitivity may vary, so consulting your doctor is always recommended.

To reduce caffeine intake, decaffeinated coffee is an excellent alternative, containing less than 0.1% caffeine. Nespresso decaffeinated coffees allow you to enjoy a rich and aromatic experience while preserving the natural flavour, without the effects of caffeine.

During pregnancy, decaffeinated options are recommended, though the final choice should be guided by your healthcare professional.

Nespresso offers two distinct systems: Original and Vertuo, each designed to deliver a unique coffee experience.

Original system is ideal for espresso lovers, preparing smaller cup sizes such as espresso, ristretto, lungo, or americano. Certain ranges, such as Barista Creations, are also perfectly suited for milk-based recipes like cappuccino.

Vertuo system is designed for those who enjoy larger coffee formats (Double Espresso, Mug, Gran Lungo) and is ideal for milk-based recipes. It uses patented Centrifusion™ technology, which reads the barcode on each capsule and automatically adjusts brewing parameters such as water volume, temperature, and extraction time. The rapid spinning motion blends coffee and water to create a naturally formed crema, enhancing both aroma and flavour.

Both systems ensure exceptional quality in every cup, differing mainly in preparation style and cup size.

Important: Original capsules are not compatible with Vertuo machines, and vice versa. Always choose capsules that match your machine.
